Welcome to The Crown & Shuttle
A friendly, traditional pub at the heart of a Firgrove’s local community in Rochdale.
The Crown & Shuttle has long been a true Firgrove local. Set on Rochdale Road (once nicknamed “Twenty Row”), where mills, loom shops and cottage weavers shaped everyday life across Milnrow and Rochdale. The pub’s name nods to that heritage: the “shuttle” is the small device that flies across a loom, weaving warp and weft, an industry that powered Rochdale from the 18th and 19th centuries into the modern era.
Today, we raise a glass to those roots with well-kept cask ale and a warm, neighbourly welcome. Following a full JW Lees investment, the Crown & Shuttle has been refreshed for today while keeping its traditional heart. Cosy fires, snug corners and proper pub character, alongside a beer garden with views towards the Littleborough hills. We remain a hub for the community with live sport, music and classic pub games, pouring JW Lees favourites on cask and keg. Long may the shuttle fly in Firgrove.
